Talk to us about NHCXNHCX (National Health Claims Exchange) is a digital gateway built by India's National Health Authority with IRDAI under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. It went live in June 2024 and routes health insurance claims between hospitals, insurers and TPAs using the FHIR R4 standard. Hospitals submit a claim once instead of using a separate portal for each payer. Clinical and financial data in the payload is encrypted end to end; the exchange reads only routing headers.

Under the Digital Health Incentive Scheme, hospitals can receive ₹500 per claim or 10% of the claim amount, whichever is lower, for claims processed through NHCX.

How long does NHCX onboarding take?
Two stages: sandbox testing and certification, then production credentials and a participant code. The sandbox work is the part with real variability, because it depends on how quickly your ABDM identity and your payer's own readiness line up. We do the technical side; the hospital owns the registration.
